One-Connection Pte Ltd acknowledges the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information provided by our customers, and is deeply committed to privacy protection. This Privacy Policy describes our practices of collecting, using and preserving the privacy of information we receive from you.
A. INFORMATION COLLECTED
1. Personally Identifiable Information
Registration Information. In order to provide service to you, we collect your name, address (including postal code/zip code for Canada and the US), email address, and age. If you choose not to register or provide such personal information, you can still visit most parts of our web site. However, you will not have access to areas that require personal identification and will not be able to initiate our services.
Demographic Information. We collect demographic information from you such as gender, occupation, and your areas of interest. This information helps us tailor material to your interests.
The registration information and certain demographic information is personally identifiable information (hereinafter referred to as "PII"). We never sell or rent PII to third parties. We do not disclose your PII to third persons, except in the following circumstances
Your OC Number always accompanies your telephone calls, faxes and short messages to mobile phones (“SMS”) and your IP address may also accompany such telecommunication initiated by you.
If we are required by any law, subpoena, order, regulation, direction, guideline of any governmental agency or any other organization of similar nature in any jurisdiction
If we are required to disclose PII in order to enforce any of our legal right
When we outsource certain services (as discussed below), subject to obligations of strict confidentiality
If you expressly authorize us to disclose your PII.
We use PII to provide you with information about our products, services, and updates, and other information that may be of interest to you. If you would like to stop receiving any or all of this information, you may do so at any time by going to the Your Profile page.
Credit Card Information. If you make payment for purchase a OC prepaid card or for settlement of OC postpaid invoices by the use of your credit card, we collect your credit card information, which is used for processing payments only and not for any other purpose.
Third Party Information. If you make a telephone call or send a fax or a SMS to a third party, you give us the third party's contact information, such as telephone number or email address. We retain that person's information but we will not use such information to contact them later to solicit them to use our services.
2. Aggregate Information
We collect aggregate information about use of our web site, using surveys, cookies, and data-mining technologies. We track such information as the number of visitors, duration of visits, how our site is navigated, and the kinds of browsers that visit our site. Information on web site usage is anonymous information rather than PII.
We also collect information on use of our services. While you are making a call, we track the duration of the call and keep records of that. We also keep information on where a call originates and where it terminates.
We use aggregate information to understand our business better so we can upgrade our infrastructure in accordance with user needs.
3. Profiles
One of the ways we pay for the services we provide is by serving advertisements while you use our services. We use all of the information available to us to create profiles of our user base. Some of the information helps create a profile of an individual user, while other information helps create a profile of our users in aggregate. We may provide this aggregate profile information (not PII) to advertisers. For example, we may inform advertisers that we have a certain number of registered users who have an interest in a topic and are interested in receiving information about the topic. This helps to tailor information from advertisers to your interests as one means of paying for the services we provide to you at no charge.
B. WHO COLLECTS INFORMATION?
We collect registration information and demographic information from you, as described above. We also collect aggregate information.
At times we outsource services from third parties, who may collect information or provide services on our behalf. We do not disclose any PII to such third parties unless they undertake the obligations of strict confidentiality, meaning that the third parties are not allowed to provide your PII to anyone else or use your PII for any other purpose.
We may from time to time send you email advertisements and our website and or the client software that you may use may display certain advertisements. We has little or no control over the privacy policies of the companies so advertised and we make no representations or warranties as to their use of any information they collect. The companies whose advertisements appear on your monitor from our servers cannot identify you unless you provide personal information to them after you have clicked on their ad. It is always a good idea to check the privacy policy of any web site before providing your PII to them.
Cookies. Our web site sets "cookies" to help deliver content specific to your interests, to customize our web site for you, and to save your password and member name so that you don't have to enter it each time you visit. Cookies are text files that are stored on your personal computer and that allow web sites to identify you. Cookies help us target advertising and other information to your interests and prevent duplication of ads served to your browser.
C. UPDATING YOUR DETAILS/CANCELING ACCOUNT
If you want to change any of the information that you have provided to us, such as your email address or name, or if you wish to cancel your registration, you may do so at the Your Profile page. Alternatively, you may also send a letter to our Customer Service Department in Singapore or an email to support@one-connection.com. We periodically correct PII that our users are indicated incorrect and unsubscribe users whose account have been cancelled or has expired.
D. SECURITY OF THE INTERNET
General. The internet is not a secure medium, so be aware that communications over it are subject to third-party interception and eavesdropping.
Co-Branded Sites. We sometimes enter arrangements with third parties whereby we provide our services on their web sites. In many such cases, users will register for our service as well as that of the co-branded site. We use your PII and other general information in compliance with our Privacy Policy. Our co-branding partners have their own privacy policy, which you should review since we do not have control over their privacy policies.
Links to Other Web Sites. Our site may contain, from time to time, links to other web sites. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites or of any third party. You should review the privacy policies of such web sites when you visit them.
Public Forums. Our site may contain, from time to time, public forums available to users. Please remember that any information you disclose in these areas becomes public information. You should take appropriate measures to protect your personally identifiable information.
